A New Refreshing

Today i sat down on my bed and read the bible for the longest time in quite a while. And i just felt so refreshed and re-connected to God. Lord, indeed your words are life, they're healing to our flesh and life to our bones. Committed the day to The Lord, and went about planning my day's activities.

Many things happenned at home, esp with my mum. But i didn't get irritated with her or anything, and we managed to talk quite a fair bit. Not deep issues but light stuff, like current affairs, rising petrol prices yadayada... It was good:) Then my mum shared about some concerns about my dad, and we actually prayed together for his salvation! It's been a long time since that last happenned. But it just feels nice having back this sense of well being!

Then i remembered what i shared with Lijia about Elijah regarding recovering from burnout. I realised i had overlooked something important in my interpretation. When Elijah was depressed and told God, "Just let me die, for i'm no better than my ancestors", God sent an angel to care for him. The angel woke Elijah twice to offer him food. It was bread on coals. I realise that other than physical nutrition, this bread of life is also symbolic of the bread of God, that is, His Word. For His Word is life. Add to that proper physical rest and realigning oneself with Godly direction, one should be out of burnout in no time!

It just feels so different facing the world refreshed, as opposed to when you're burnt out. I never wanna be burnt again...
